Summoning Contracts

The Summoning Technique {Kuchiyose no Jutsu] is a Space-Time Ninjutsu which allows the Summoner to transport Animals or People across long distances instantly, using Blood as a sacrifice.

Before any type of Summoning can be performed, a prospective summoner must first sign a contract with a given species. The contract comes in the form of a scroll, upon which the contractor uses their own blood to sign their name and place their fingerprints; once signed, it is valid even after the contractor's death, provided the contract itself remains intact.

The only thing needed to complete a summoning is the contractor's blood and chakra, though the contractor need not be who actually performs the summoning. Provided their blood is present, the contract is upheld, and the summon will proceed. It is possible to summon a single individual or a group, provided enough chakra is offered. Based on the chakra, a creature will instantly know who is attempting to summon it.

While it is entirely possible to have a contract with multiple species, it is impossible to summon more than one species simultaneously. A character may have a contract with both Snakes and Toads, but may not summon a Toad while they actively have Snakes on the field.


Duties of the Summoned

Once summoned, the creature can perform a variety of duties included but not limited to Combat, Travel, and cooking dinner. Occasionally, a summon may actually prove to be a hindrance to the user, as the summons do have their own personalities, and are loyal to their own species before the summoner. While the summoner does have a degree of control over them, able to influence their actions, and extended periods of cooperation may provide a summon the intelligence to predict what the summoner would want, ultimately the summons will save themselves first.

If a Summoner attempts to summon a creature with which they do not have a contract, they will instead be summoned to the homeland of whichever creature they have a natural affinity for.

In the event that a Summoner needs total control over the summon, such as a Tailed Beast, the summoner must feed them constant chakra in order to coerce them into doing their bidding, but this will drastically reduce the "timer" of which a creature's contract is stated.


The Contract's Time Limit

Summons have their own lives and duties to get back to. Once summoned, a timer begins: this is dependant on the Rank of the Summon and its active duties. When not summoned for Combat purposes (be it travel or surveillance), the timer is extended by 100%, effectively doubling how long they can last. In combat, however, there are strict lengths to how long a summon can stay out:
C-Rank: 10 Posts
B-Rank: 8 Posts
A-Rank: 6 Posts
S-Rank: 4 Posts

Sage Mode

Those who have dedicated themselves to Summoning and have spent a large amount of time with the species for which they have a natural affinity can unlock Sage Mode. This requires the user to have no Kekkei Genkai, and requires a thread in which they learn to attune with the Natural Energies and mix it with their own Chakra, creating Senjutsu Chakra. Simply unlocking Sage Mode permanently increases the user's Regen by 2 per Post, and while active, Sage Mode further increases it by another 2 per Post. There are a few Sage Art techniques below, which can only be used while the user is actively in Sage Mode, but you are more than welcome to create your own techniques as well. A user may have a maximum of 3 Sage Art techniques.

Description: The user enters Sage Mode, an empowered state which blends natural energy with the user's chakra, creating Senjutsu Chakra. Sage Mode allows users to tap into the natural force of the world, opening new techniques to them and allowing them to power up existing ones with Senjutsu Chakra. Upon entering Sage Mode, the user receives 5 Sage Chakra, which can be spent at their leisure. Any jutsu empowered by Sage Mode, or which was given by Sage Mode, that is used drains 1 Sage Chakra. Upon spending all 5 Sage Chakra, the user reverts back to their normal form, and cannot re-enter Sage Mode for 72 Hours. The user can stand completely still for an entire post, and will restore 1 Sage Chakra. This can occur 5 times within 72 hours. Merely unlocking Sage Mode permanently increases the user's Chakra Regen by 2/Post - Additionally, while Sage Mode is active, their regen is further increased by 2/Post, to a total of 4/Post.

Description: Creates a perfect clone of the user, similar to Kage Bunshin, with the exception that this clone can effectively be made to bleed as well. The only way to disperse this clone is to kill it, and the clone can use any jutsu the user is able to use, with its own chakra pool equal to the User's Rank Base. The clone also regenerates chakra at 1/2 speed of the user. By each expending 20 Chakra, the clone and the user can swap places instantly, with no delay nor tell that this occured.

Description: This technique can be applied to any other jutsu in the user's arsenal. When combined with that technique, it will only drain the Senjutsu Chakra, and will not drain the user's personal Chakra reserves. This cannot be applied to upkeep costs.

Description: This technique causes the summon's Time Limit to be extended by 100%, doubling the time they may exist. This means C-Rank Summons can last for 20 in-combat posts, and S-Rank summons can last for 8 in-combat posts.
