Tōketsu Biography

The Tōketsu hail from a far away land that has long since been forgotten to them. They remember it as cold and barren, not suitable for life, but for all its faults there was one up-side; it was safe from those pursuing them. Their pursuers were after them. After the clan had attempted a coup d'etat because they believed their people were becoming weak, for their leaders had signed a peace treaty with a neighboring country when their country was winning the war they were in. Their country leaders thinking any survivors would come back and attempt to overthrow them, the government tried to exterminate the clan entirely, all men women and children as well. They thought that the best way to peace was to make an example of them. Unfortunately for the country leaders, the clan was more resilient then expected; being made up of the more militant chunk of the population. So they did the next best thing: drove them into a place that was almost certain death and then leave them to starve out from the cold and  barren wasteland, or be killed by the monstrous beasts that dwell there. Unfortunately for the county leaders, these harsh conditions gave way to humans' more primitive side. The strong survived and the weak became scraps, forgotten. This new primitive nature manifested itself as something curious in the newer generations for they could sense life essence and strength, then subjugate their will. Those that were weaker were especially useful seeing as there were very strong beasts living in the area. So they subjugated the strongest creatures they could and made them work for the good of the exiles. Along the way, newer offspring with this trait started being able to understand their subjugated beast initially though body language then though their sounds and eventually had a telepathic connection, using their deep connection to the land and nature itself. Their new environment even started changing them physically making newer generations taller and more hairy with more muscle and longer hair they had become something truly fierce and largely forgotten to the rest of the world.

Eventually the head clansmen of the exiles came up with the thought of trying once again to attack and retake their homeland, for they were desperate to leave because they knew they could not live there forever. The winters were getting colder and colder with each passing winter and eventually nothing at all would grown their and all life would either leave or die. So they mustered their forces, preparing an assault the likes of which had never been seen to retake their homeland and all after that. But they could not have predicted the readiness of the homeland. Their military prowess had been top of the line due to every clansmen being the best warriors physically. The clans chiefs being the military minds, they would have seen it was not enough. The homeland had anticipated this and saw it as an opportunity to take out the exiles once and for all. They had been spending all their time and money developing top of the line weaponry, hiring every mercenary they could find, erecting almost impregnable defenses such as walls of steel and iron, and uniting all their neighboring countries' forces into one army. It was less of a fight and more of slaughter, the enemy was merciless taking prisoners and killing off children without a second though. The exiles and their chiefs were prepared to hold the line and die, when a injured child 15 years of age stumbled into the chief's war tent and asked them why they were so keen on killing all of their people and not just running somewhere else. Where would they run back to the frozen wasteland and wait to freeze to death, or starve? At that moment a cannon ball from a prototype ship of the opposing line hit the encampment from the shore and then the thought struck the chief, they used to be sailors. Half of their men sailed out into the ocean to gather fish before it froze over. In a last ditch effort to save what was left of their people the chiefs ordered full retreat and ordered to take that ship by any means necessary. It was a grueling fight and cost three-quarters of the initial force but they took the ship mostly and headed back to their homeland but not without chase. The homeland sent every solder they had, though this was incredibly bad timing, for it was winter time and an extreme snow storm was sweeping across the land. Though the exiles, with their tough and grizzled physique were used to this sort of storm the mercenary and solders of the warmer climates were not and they had to cease the pursuit.

The exiles had successfully escaped death again and with one of the homeland's prototype ships. No less, it came without damage for it had none of the cannons or weapons intact and was only barely sailing but what most would see as smoldering wreckage the head chief saw hope. He ordered the ship be repaired as best it could to be sea worthy and it be reverse engineered to build 2 more and for it to be fast knowing the only reason they were standing alive now was because of the harsh winters which would end in 2 months. So they began construction. taking little over a month to make 3 ships, one hundred and fifty meters long, each capable of housing three thousand, nine hundred and seventy two in total plus the animals. They made their escape two weeks before the enemy would arrive, then was the least dangerous time to depart according those that where in tune with nature, leaving though a pathway only those living in that harsh climate would know how to navigate. They had successfully fled from the homeland pursuers and had spent 5 years out at sea constantly fishing and honing their skills in things fishing and swimming there where even some who subjugated the fish but in doing this, found out something curious. The fish they had subjugated had told them of a land mass where the inhabitant of the land emanated a strange otherworldly power capable of summoning fire, water and earth at will. This was very intriguing to the chiefs who then decided to set course for this strange place and and set up a village there immediately. They did just that, and ended up crash landing in the land of snow due to the waves around this landmass being almost unnatural to them and their boats falling apart as a result. The snow village then got reports of these strange folks crashing ashore from the reconnaissance units and fearing an invasion sent a defense force to attack and though the exiles did not have chakra they were no strangers to the art of war. They easily took down the defense force and marched to the village, pillaging all settlements along the way. Though the enemy possessed chakra, they were at equal level with with the exile's technology-wise unlike the homeland fighters who hid behind their constructs of metal and steam this was a cake walk compared to them.

They then invaded the village and took the capital building where the 1st Yukikage and the village elders called the head chef to discuss the terms of surrender. Days and weeks passed during negotiating, and the solders who had taken part in the attack had grown tired of pillaging in this area. A few went to go pillage other places or work as mercenaries, violating the chefs orders while others had nothing to do except wait. Some started to build houses on the outskirts of town because they found it quite charming there and reminded them of their homeland while something in the air felt constant, like it wasn't going to change to those in tune with nature. Some of the men even started talking to the females of the village and took some as wives as honorary members of their tribe with the permission of the chiefs. While this was happening the head chief was in negotiations with the village leaders and explained to them his people's situation which the village leaders where interested to hear; then the head chief did something no one would expect. He let the village leaders keep power in exchange for the tribe having a say in the government and a new district for his people be built. The village leaders, shocked, were very skeptical of his reasoning and asked why he would do this, to find out his reasoning was due to the fact that he was afraid of the homeland coming after them for revenge. He wanted to keep their presence as much of a secret as possible. He also remarked that the village had worthy warriors and believed that with the right training they could be a devastating weapon as well as the village also sharing similar war-like goals.

The village agreed, but asked that the exiles chose a clan name to go by. The head chef not knowing what the village meant asked them to explain for his exiles had only ever been addressed as one family. After weeks of learning about customs and the language of the village the clan leader decided on Tōketsu meaning frozen in his native language, a fitting name for a people so involved in the cold. Years passed and slowly the Tōketsu had taken root with the others and cross-bred with the villagers so much to the point, where every new member of the clan possessed the ability to manipulate chakra just like the rest of the villagers on top of the abilities that the clan possessed through intense and specialized training. And to this day the Tōketsu clan resides in the snow village still honing their abilities and afraid that one day their pursuers will return find them and finish exterminating all of their kin.

Name: Bestial Synthesis
Type: Body Mutation
Stages:

Stage 1: Pup The user fuses with their chosen animal and gains a limited version of their senses, and also looks visibly more like their chosen animal pretty much keeping their original form, only changing things like eye color, hair color, and having their sensory organs turn to their chosen animals sensory organs. An example of this being a dog user fusing with their chosen animal in this case, a dog, and gaining a dog's hair and eye color and having their nose and ears and eyes turn to a dog's nose and ears and to increase their sense of smell, their hearing and their reaction time. At this rank they can feel the emotions of their animal but can not communicate with them in any way besides emotion.

Stage 2: Juvenile
The user now gains the full version of their animals senses as well as a limited version of the animal's puncturing tools "claws and teeth" and their skin transforms to show things like fur and scales completely. Others can still tell that they were originally human. The user can now communicate with their animal through primitive communication like body language and grunts.

Stage 3: Mature
.

Stage 4: Elder
.

Stage 5: Prime
.

Effects: The user gains the ability for one animal, who they must make sign a contract by any means they see fit. The is activated and deactivated at will but the animal of their choosing can not be changed once they pick it. When the jutsu is active the user and the animal fuse and inhabit one body. At the lower levels, the fusion looks mostly human with the small added benefits like better senses and gradually gets closer to a resemblance of a humanoid version of the animal. At the higher of the ranks can turn into the animal outright and at the highest of the ranks can turn into even better versions of the animal and example of this would be at the highest level level a dog user transforming into a hell hound. The animal and human can also telepathically talk to each other, though at lower levels their communication skills from one to the other are very basic and can get more complex as the user and animal gain more ranks and affinity.
